Yoga for Pelvic Pain

Here's a great yoga pose when you have pelvic pain.

In this blog post I want to share a great post you can try if you have pain from your PCOS. There are a lot of great yoga poses that helps to open up in the pelvic region and this is one of my absolute favorites. It has helped me and many other women around the world.

The pose is called Squatting Pose, and what it does is to open up in the pelvic region: it increases the blood circulation and helps the muscles to relax in this area. It also helps your digestion, so it´s a great pose to do if you have problem with that or if you have constipation. I also find it very effective if you have IBS.

This is how you do it:

From a standing postion with your legs apart, squat down and maintain the position. Keep your spine straight and your toes pointing as much forward as possible. Wrap your arms around your knees and interlace your fingers or you can just relax your arms on your knees. Breathe Long Deep Breaths, relax your body. Sit in this pose as long as needed, it can take some minutes until the pain goes away.

If you find it difficult to sit in this pose you can:

  • Tuck in a pillow under your heels for support. Many feel that when they sit in this pose it feels like they are falling back, so to avoid this you can support with pillows under your heels.
  • Lean against a wall. This can also be an option if you find it difficult in the beginning.
  • Sit in the sofa leaning back in the pose. This can be a great option also, if it´s uncomfortable for you or if you need to sit in the pose for a long time.

Try this pose whenever you feel you need to decrease your pain! Let me know how it works for you!
