September is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month!
To kick off the month, PCOS Awareness Association would like to invite you to our 2nd Annual Reveal the Teal event; Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:00am at Green River Community College – Grand Hall
Public awareness of PCOS is necessary because over half of the 10,000,000 women that have it, are unaware of it. They don’t know why they feel different or are having unexplained pain or why their Medical Professional is not giving them answers. The symptoms of PCOS vary with each woman so no woman ever thinks of it being a serious matter. Symptoms of PCOS may include irregular/absent menstrual periods, infertility, dandruff, oily/acne skin, weight gain, thinning hair, dark patches on skin, pelvic pain, etc. Many of these symptoms such as oily skin and pelvic pain are often ignored by women and Medical Professionals. If left undetected, PCOS can lead to Heart Disease, Diabetes, Breast Cancer, and Gynecological Cancers which makes it imperative for an awareness organization like PCOS Awareness Association to exist.
