PCOS can lead to serious health problems like heart disease and diabetes, if not taken seriously. Unfortunately, PCOS is not well understood in the medical field due to variation in symptoms and the fact that the exact cause is not known. Not all women experience or feel the same symptoms. With greater awareness, and get enlightened.
The name, “Women Walking Together” indicates the coming together of women to unite together, with similar passion to raise awareness and support other women. We believe this event will help them understand the facts about the disorder. Consequently, this will make a huge difference in the fight against PCOS.
The 5k Walk is an opportunity to educate women based on medical research, encourage them to make healthy lifestyle changes and empower them to take charge of their own health.
The month of September is National PCOS Awareness month! We are organizing a 5k Walk in locations across the country.

Teal Warrior Award, Presented by Insulite Health and PCOSAA
11 Winners of the Teal Warrior Award Will Be Presented
(one in each location of a PCOS Strides 5k Walk)
How to Win:
1) Join one of the PCOS 5k Walks in your area
2) Encourage your family and friends to register with you
3) Request family and friends to donate to PCOS Awareness Association in honor of you via the Facebook Donation page, via the PCOSAA Website, or by mail.
a. Donations MUST include a message from the person donating that says “Supporting _(name)__ in _(city)_”
*if the donation does not include this information we will not know who the amount goes to for the award*
Who May Enter:
Any individual may win the award except for the following: members of the current PCOSAA board or volunteers
Eligibility:
The award will be given to an individual who helps PCOSAA raise awareness of PCOS and funds to go towards the mission and goals of PCOSAA.
Donation Deadline:
All donations must be received by 11:59pm pacific standard time September 01, 2017
Award Presentation:
Before each event PCOSAA will tally the donations under each participant’s name at each location. Winners of the Teal Warrior Award will be announced at each PCOS 5k Walk location on the day of the event. Winners will receive a special award from Insulite Health and will also be featured on all PCOSAA social media profiles.
